do you often get told there is another thread already going...

or similar was posted the other day.....

or go and search through old posts for info on what you are asking about?

Really annoys me !!!!

Ok, maybe annoys me is a little strong lol, but is a little irritating

you dont always want to go through other posts looking for any similar threads or checking what you are going to post hasnt already been posted...

and sometimes if you want a question answering or advice, you want the advice given to youself, not reading other peoples old similar threads

and, lol, ....if topics and questions were not repeated, eventually, there wouldnt really be a lot to post about would there

Ok, I accept there is no need to post threads and parking spaces though...that is the exception

so am I sad and alone in being slightly irritated by this?!!!

Yes

cocolepew · 19/06/2008 20:59

I think there is something similar on another thread, I'll try to do a link..

whomovedmychocolate · 19/06/2008 21:00

It is kinda rude to point it out to someone and embarrass them as well

TsarChasm · 19/06/2008 21:00

Actually there was another thread about this earlier....

controlfreakyagain · 19/06/2008 21:00

hasn't this been done already?

maidamess · 19/06/2008 21:01

Don't worry, there's always some stalwart who feels they are doing a service by pointing this out..ignore and carry on posting!

anniebear · 19/06/2008 21:05

Lol, lol, probably has been done before

when it does happend, It sometimes does kind of make you feel like you are being told off for posting

anorak · 19/06/2008 21:10

I sometimes post a link if I think it will contain useful information for the OP. I don't mean it to indicate that they shouldn't have posted though.

anniebear · 19/06/2008 21:16

yes, Im sure lots of people do it for that reason

you do get some though that you feel you are being told off!!

WigWamBam · 19/06/2008 21:17

Me too, anorak. If I know that there is useful stuff on a thread I will link to it. I can't see that it's rude to point that thread out to them - I have always thought it might be a helpful thing to do.

SlartyBartFast · 19/06/2008 21:19

read the archives, this thread is being done every half an hour

anorak · 19/06/2008 21:19

Yes it's true, you do get people saying 'if you check the archive, you will find XYZ there' which is unhelpful and sounds like a telling-off.

anniebear · 19/06/2008 21:19

I suppose its how its done

sometimes you do a thread and you get

"theres already one like this"

I think if you ask for info and people give you advice but then someone says "maybe take a look here, you might find some of it useful" then thats ok!!!! and helpul

Im just paranoid!!!

OP posts:
SlartyBartFast · 19/06/2008 21:20

we don't always want to read the Archives...
