this happened to me - underwires from bras broke the pump.

it was £40.

Oh our old one did this.
We had a washing machine bloke out and he said it would cost about the same as it would to buy a new machine.

So we just threw it and bought a new one.

CHeck your filter first! It may just be traped there, and that def stops them draining. Will save you a lot of heartache/money!

Could be just not draining because the card is stuck in the filter, or it may have got through that bit and stuck in the waste pipe.
