how can i put a photo onto FACEBOOK from my phone???

can you get the internet on your phone?

If not, the easiest way to do it is to bluetooth your pic to your computer. If your computer doesn't have bluetooth connectivity, you will need a dongle, which you can get quite cheaply from ebay.

Once it is on your computer, you can browse from FB in the usual way and get it posted there.

I've emailed the picture to myself but can't figure out how to transfer it to the website.

If no bluetooth, some phones have a lead you can plug directly into the usb of your computer.

Save the photo on your email to your hard drive (right click the photo, you should get options).

Remember where you save it.

Use the upload pic option on facebook, click browse and locate the saved picture.
