Back to back maternity leave SMP

What is the criteria for back to back maternity leave? If maternity leave started in January for example, what would be the last month I would be required to receive SMP to be able to qualify for SMP again for the new baby?

Thanks all x

You'd need to be getting paid in weeks 17-25 of your pregnancy to get any SMP as thats the period of time used to calculate what you'd get

Agree with pp.

you might qualify for maternity allowance instead if you have been employed or self-employed for at least 26 weeks in the 66 weeks before your baby is due.
