New white enamel cooker hob -

I was thrilled to be given a brand new cooker, but its bright white enamel? So far on a test run, the leading products are not touching the area where I cooked rice and it left a residue all around the plate? I would have bought black, but that was not a choice, and I am really worried about scratching the enamel, which doubtless is not the same quality of enamel we used to see. So b. pads are out or w. wool? Please help? Thank you

Sounds beautiful (if you can call a cooker beautiful!) Bar Keepers Friend is your friend, just make sure to apply it with soft tools - sponge or cloth.

Get yourself some hob scraper blades

Enamel is quite resistant. Bar keepers friend and a green scouring pad should sort it.
