Birthday ideas for my dad please!!!

I just cannot think what to get him. He'll be 65. Likes gardening, walking (but nothing too heavy) ermm... that's about it really. He is retired. My sister & I could go halves so cou;ld spend a bit more but I just don't know what.

a trip to see the new treetops walkway at kew?

I got my dad an English Heritage membership last year so he could go round old houses and bore other old duffers. He liked it.

My mum still hasn't forgiven me though.

How about membership of the steak club or the cheese club/wine club/chocolate club.

Actually I got my mum a subscription to a puzzling magazine and she now regularly sits down and does nothing for half an hour (a minor miracle for her) so that was a winner.

Haunted house evening?

I was wondering about some sort of food club. I wonder if there's such a thing as Bread & Butter pudding club?! He's rather old fashioned food wise!
