White dress on a red head ??

There is a pretty white dress on e bay and I was thinking of buying it for my daughter. She is pale with auburn hair, do you think plain white would suit someone of this colouring?

A friend's dd has the most beautiful wine- red hair in corkscrew curls and she is often dressed in white and pale colours & she looks fey and beautiful.

I am very fair with a dark auburn hair, I have to wear the lightest shade foundation and that can look orange sometimes. I tend to look washed out in white, I married in ivory so I didn't look ill, but I think it's mainly my hair colour that makes me look like that.
