Neighbour and fireworks

Neighbour is trying to say one of the fireworks I set off landed on their cars roof. Came to my door and admitted there was no damage and to be “careful” with the direction they’re pointing(towards the sky) have proof of this. Today they’ve came back and said that there is damage to the car and I’ll be expected to pay for it to be fixed. They have no proof it was one of mine but apparently have another neighbour as a witness. No Dashcam or cctv to say it actually did land on the car. Is it worth taking further or not worth entertaining them?

Well yes, if you set off fireworks and their car was damaged
then you are responsible. If they have witness evidence then they have a stronger case

Did you not read that I have video proof of them saying “no damage was done” and that they have no physical proof it was mine and not the neighbour on the other side 🤦‍♀️😂

They have no proof ignore them

Have they got the piece of firework that hit their car as evidence?

A rocket! But I never set those off due to having sticks on them

Surely this kind of damage would be covered by insurance?

I’d assume but not what I want to know haha. Just wanted peoples opinion as I’m not taking blame for something I never caused damage to

If it’s a rocket it could have come from anywhere nearby. It’s frustrating for them but hard to prove.
