Racist Neighbours/ Mobs

I'm a brown skinned woman who looks like im in my 20's (although i'm older) and moved to a place a few months ago, it's a nice area which was said to be posh- I didn't view it before I moved in. Since I first moved in, the neighbour on one side started voyeuring me through his windows obviously, including in the bathroom- smiling creepily when I caught him and not moving- lurking outside my house every day, obsessively insulting me to all the neighbours after he kept knocking and I didn't answer. I had to get a cctv camera and sign up due to this obsessive behaviour- when he saw the camera, he laughed at it loudly and made loud mocking comments like 'oh im so scared' etc to other neighbours.

Then with zero reaction from me, he got his whole family involved in a harassment campaign against me which was constant and racist, their son broke my cctv camera, and they got the neighbour on the other side and a few other neighbours involved before I even had a chance to talk to or meet any of them. The neighbour on the other side, another creepy super insecure man got the people in the pub garden which backs onto his house involved- drunk pub patrons- in super racist and sexist harassment, stalking and abuse which has been constant until the early hours of the morning. There were knock and runs, people in groups of up to 5 harassing me outside my house until early hours of the morning most nights. The police did and have done nothing- said there is no evidence (as they all lied, stuck up for each other and covered each others backs) and my camera only films people up close when events happen, not 24 hr recording. I was ready to press charges against them- but the police did not even give them a single warning or tell them to leave me alone at all which I had literally begged them to do. Not only did they not charge etc anyone, they didn't even ask them to Leave me Alone, just said 'there's no evidence, we are going to file your case'.

I know that if it was a white woman living alone who looks young, being harassed by 20+ black or asian men, the police would have done alot, i'm certain of this- but because i'm a brown woman being mobbed and harassed mainly by around 20+ white men, nothing has been done by the white male police officers in charge of the case. I wanted to go to the papers with this as I don't know what to do, but don't want to get sued. What should I do? Like I keep trying to push the police to help me but they refuse to do anything and take like over a month to reply or even email or call me back- it's just absolutely horrific.

Make a formal complaint directly to the police force involved. If you are unhappy with their response, you can appeal to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). Keep records of your interactions and report any potential legal violations.
Contact support services like Victim Support for confidential advice and support, especially if you feel threatened or are a victim of a crime.

How can reporting help? - Victim Support

The police are there to listen and protect you, if you are a victim of crime they will help you, even if you've had a bad experience.

Tell that to the Rochdale victims.
I’m sorry you’re going through this but constructing stories that are patently untrue is not helpful and doesn’t move you forward. You urgently need to move house if you feel unsafe there, don’t sit there waiting for police to save you. They are indiscriminately hopeless across the board. It sounds really unsafe. You could end up getting hurt if you stay there, bugger what should or shouldn’t happen, get somewhere safe!

What's untrue? I've literally seen white women I've knowns cases been taken a million times more seriously than mine so unless you're a brown woman of colour or a woman who is empathetic and knows what happens to brown women of colour- you would not know what I'm talking about. There are over 5 laws they've broken and continue to break yet get off scots free, no warning even. This is the issue with the police aswell- they don't seem to understand. If I was a white woman- these men would not be fetishing me, stalking and voyering me, mob harrassing me, yet alone racially abusing me (they couldnt do that if theyre white and if the victim was white) and mobbing me at all- thats a Fact.

Thanks, I tried victim support, they didn't do anything. I've called the IOPC today so praying they do something- thanks. Will try citizens advice too so I can see what my options are as even my complaints havent been responded to etc. I've never heard of a case in my area or London this severe where the perpetrators havent even been given a warning- they seem to think the police are on their side after having all covered for each other during the initial investigation and got even worse after. Hopefully after 5 months the police will actually do something, not make the situation worse again.

Has this been resolved

I'm really sorry that you're going through this. Are you keeping a log of everything that has happened? Of course the police is institutionally racist and there are plenty of individuals within the police force who are racist af. Anyone says otherwise is just uneducated.

Unfortunately I doubt that you're neighbours are going to stop even if the police do warn them. If you're renting I would consider moving. I'm surprised to read that you didn't view your place before you moved in. Good neighbours are crucial!!
