So here I am again, still no job, and not sure where to go or what to do next

Pretty sure that I posted a similar thread this time last year, and after that I ended up starting the access course again, and dropped out ^again. The less said about that the better.

So, a year on and I still have no job, despite applying for god knows how many, infact have only got to interview stage once.

I am seriously pissed off with looking and applying for jobs, and with having to go to the jobcentre all of the time just for them to tell me what I already know.

I said I'd give myself until the end of June to find something and then admit defeat and go to college instead, have even already applied for an admin course, but then I had an interview for a job in admin and couldn't believe how boring it sounded.

So, what shall I do ? I seem to keep going round and round in circles and somehow end up going backwards.

Adult Apprenticeships yep, in several different areas of the public sector I think.

In my area (Sussex) the local Early Years or PLA subsidise the cost of level 2 or 3 in Childcare so it's free. Might be worth looking into.

Right, I have decided what I am going to.

I have always been so comfortable working with children, and when my neighbour came round the other day with the nearly 3 yr old she minds, it made me remember when I was at school and did work experience in a nursery. I loved being with the pre schoolers, it didn't even seem like work, I liked it that much.

I would love to be able to get a job in a pre-school or nursery class in a school.

So, I need to do a childcare course and at the mo it is a toss up between an NVQ 2 or the CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education.

The nvq is probably a quicker route to paid employment, as it takes a year and i'd then be qualified enough to get a job. I'd want to do nvq 3 too though so would have to that on top of my job, probably of an evening. With this route though I'd need to find a voluntary placement somewhere pretty sharpish.

If I do the CACHE course it would mean fulltime college for 2 years, with 2 days placement a week, and also block placements throughout the year.
The CACHE course does seem more detailed than the nvq, which oddly enough appeals to me.

Ultimatly, I would like to end up in a job working with children between the ages of 2-4, and maybe hopefully one day even do a Foundation Degree in Early Years.

Any opinions on which course would be best anyone ??
