Hello all. I have a question for the mums of toddlers. My son just turned one and I noticed that he doesnt respond to his name 92% of the time. His hearing is fine, got it checked. He is walking properly, he only says baba tay tay and mama sometimes, he does play with his toys and babble alot, he is very active and interactive and does good eye contact when called. Do I need to worry or is it too early ? Please help

Sounds like totally normal, healthy 1 year old behaviour to me. My children still don’t respond to their names when they’re more interested in doing something else. Will you be seeing his health visitor at 18 months? A lot will change by then and if his hearing is normal then I don’t think they’ll be concerned anyway.

Normal.

Totally normal.
my DD barely had any words until she was almost 2 and has barely stopped talking (to me at least) since then. Immediate full sentences etc.
same with walking - she’d stand on her own for months until about 17 months and then she was running everywhere!
they are all different but well within ‘normal’ ranges
