Toweling dressing gowns for children?

BroccoliSpears · 04/06/2008 18:50

Where am I supposed to put threads about childrens' clothing? Style and Beauty seems wrong.

Anyway, has anyone seen any toweling dressing gowns for children? Size 2 - 3 years.

All the dressing gowns I see are that slightly fluffy material which is no good as I want it for after swimming.

(Really hoping that 'toweling' doesn't have two Ls, but too lazy to check).

I havent...but what about a towelling poncho affair?

claricebeansmum · 04/06/2008 18:51

White Company used to do them and Mitty James website is lovely for beachy stuff

OverMyDeadBody · 04/06/2008 18:52

There are always loads of lovely ones on ebay. That's where I've got all of DS's ones.

PestoMonster · 04/06/2008 18:53

Are
these

any good?

PestoMonster · 04/06/2008 18:55

Or

this from John Lewis ?

BroccoliSpears · 04/06/2008 19:03

Thank you all. I particularly want a dressing gown rather than a poncho or beach dress sort of thing, lovely though they are.

I've been looking on ebay and often I can't decide from the picture if something is proper toweling or a bit fluffy. Could ask the seller though.

Broccoli, if you're stuck I do have a spare dressing gown from Turquaz age 2-3 which is towelling inside and cotton outside - think its quite a good one, was from local posh shop. You can have it for cost of postage if you like - let me know if you want a pic emailing.

Otherwise I've now got White Company towelling dressing gowns (not the ponchos) which are lovely thick towelling, I use them for drying off after swimming and they work well. Good luck!

bubblagirl · 04/06/2008 19:24

i had a brightly coloured towelling dressing gown for ds it was bright green i think but only one i could find cant remember where got it now though think it was bright pink too

Flibbertyjibbet · 04/06/2008 19:25

I also have the white company dressing gowns. (2nd hand off ebay as they are blardy expensive). They are absolutely gorgeous thick soft towelling.
If you look on the ebay descriptions for the fabric, the proper towelling ones will be 'cotton' and the fleecy synthetic ones will be acrylic.

bubblagirl · 04/06/2008 19:27

ive just looked i still have it it has bright yellow hood pink sleeves green body and a star on the bottom

Countingthegreyhairs · 04/06/2008 19:31

How about

www.jako-o.com/produkt/en/produkt-detail.mb1?

Sorry can't get link to work but go to JakOo online, then clothing, then nightwear, - colours are a bit garish but side-fastening belt gizmo v. useful (my dd always loses her dressing gown belt or it's always coming open and belt trailing dangerously

or

posher version =

go to Children's Salon and look for Darcy Brown rosebud terry cotton robe (see under Girls Clothing) although I'm sure I've seen this cheaper somewhere else

nannyjo · 04/06/2008 19:34

SaintGeorge · 04/06/2008 19:41

Plain with hoods

BroccoliSpears · 04/06/2008 19:46

Ahhh... genius! Search specifically for White Company dressing gowns on ebay. Am doing and coming up trumps! Hurrah.

Thank you so much for various advice and offers. I think with ebay and these last couple of links I should be able to get something sorted.

Someone bought DS a towelling dressing gown from H&M when he was born, but it was in size 6-12 months I think - don't know if they do bigger. That was nearly 4 years ago though so might not be made anymore!

EachPeachPearMum · 04/06/2008 23:16

I would suggest the white company ones from ebay, as the ones they do at present are definitely NOT as thick and as fluffy as a couple of years ago.
They do tend to go for a decent amount though...

SlapAndTickle · 04/06/2008 23:19

another vote for The White Company. Dcs have them and they are lovely.
