Hi. I’m looking to do a kitchen orangery extension. Both David Salisbury and Vale quoted me upwards of £90k just for the glass and structure, with an extra £120k for building work. I found another company called Montpellier Joinery that quoted almost half- too good to be true? Has anyone used them before? TIA

Have you had an architect draw you up plans? If so just get all the trades you need one after the other and call it an extension rather than an Orangery should come in under half your original quote.

Thanks! That’s exactly what I’m thinking. My builder quoted 120k, I’ll just add the price of the doors, lantern and side windows and the architect. Not sure it’ll be half but it can’t be that high! It’s not justifiable or achievable otherwise.
