Vaccinations 6 in 1

My daughter is due her 6 in 1 vaccines. I am very concerned about them due to them being all synthetically made. Also about it including HEP B which i feel quite frankly is disgusting as that is only caught through sex and used needles. I need some advice on whether or not i should go ahead with these vaccines or not, the side effects of having them. Also if anyone has had the vaccines done privately please tell me where you managed to get them done as i cannot find any.

Hep B can be caught from any exchange of bodily fluids, not just sex and drug use.

Please get her vaccinated. It is one of the best things you can do for her aas a parent.

CarrotJams · 16/09/2025 12:04

Please try not to worry - this is a very safe and effective vaccine. It protects against some very nasty illnesses. It’s not a live vaccine so the chances of side effects are so so small. If you feel anxious as some do that it’s ’a lot’ at once be reassured the body can cope with this but if you feel really worried you can always split the vaccines and not do any others on the same day. Speak to your GP for advice if you feel this is something may need to do.

I understand it can be worrying and confusing and there’s a lot of conflicting and confusing info out there about vaccinations. They really are so important though and will protect your child.

This. It can be caught from picking up the wrong toothbrush at a sleepover or camp, standing on a discarded needle at a beach, any childhood bump where teeth bang into the other child's skin.
Likely far less harmful synthetic-wise than the amount of processed icecreams children eat over one summer too!

If you want straightforward honest advice about vaccinations I would suggest that you speak to a health professional about them. You are quite within your rights to have questions and concerns but asking a forum where half the responses could potentially make you more frightened by them is not where I would be looking for information. For what it’s worth, I’m a health professional and I would strongly advocate having all vaccines.

titchy · 16/09/2025 12:49

Why private - do you trust posh vaccines?

DameSylvieKrin · 16/09/2025 12:54

Sadly people, including quite young children, don’t always get to choose whether to have sexual contact with someone. So in addition to the other routes of contracting it, consider that.

Do you think polio just... went away? The success of the vaccination programme is the reason there's now a one in a billion chance of getting it. If everyone took your selfish attitude, polio would come back.

TeenToTwenties · 16/09/2025 12:59

The NHS wouldn't spend ££££ on free vaccines if they weren't effective.

We are lucky in this country to no longer have many childhood diseases due to vaccines.

I'm a believer in not trying to out think experts in things I'm not an expert about.

We need a fairly high level of unselfish people for herd immunity so awful to see that poster spreading misinformation and quackery. Flights from the two polio endemic countries land in the UK daily, we could have an imported case at any time.

Quackery and misinformation indeed. And MN are happy to let it stand - I reported the post but it's been left up. Not sure why 'misinformation' is even a category in the reporting form.

If you go privately you can choose which vaccines you want and when, some vaccines won’t be relevant to you and certainly not at such a young age.

i find the term anti vax unfair - I wish people would be pro having the conversation and looking at the data rather than dismissing certain people as anti vax. We all want the same thing, we are all in this together - our goal is to have strong children.

Why do you think nobody has had it since 1970? (It was actually 1984).

Polio is transmitted from dirty water so im
not sure how easily you could catch it from a person coming over on a plane. Polio was eliminated because of better hygiene hence why it occurs in countries that don’t have good sanitation. Polio rates went down dramatically before the vaccine was introduced. I’m not trying to win an argument here this is just what I’ve read in a few books and I would love it if people did their own research, I’m trying to help. You don’t need to listen to me but at least look at the data.

Yes and was found in London's sewer water in 2022.

Polio is spread by person-to-person contact, look it up.

The books you have read were written to make money for their authors. That’s all. People who are actually experts on the topic publish their findings in journals (listed in PubMed), not in books.
Please, for the sake of your family’s health, find out about how science and research actually works.

The data has already been looked, by people eminently more qualified to assess it. There is absolutely no question whatsoever that vaccinations are significantly more beneficial than no vaccinations. So anyone that does dispute that is an anti-vaxxer - there’s no conversation or discussion to be had.

It’s the equivalent to debating whether the earth goes round the sun or the sun goes round the earth. We KNOW the earth goes round the sun.

If you start now you could become an immunologist in 15 years and do your own research. Bit late for your kids though, so lucky someone else has already done that for you….

Well as he manipulated some of his ‘data’ I wouldn’t trust him. Therefore I dismiss him.
