Birthday present to our on grave

My partners Dad died around 10 years ago.
It would be his Birthday over the weekend.

My partner doesn’t speak much about his Dad but was chuffed when I brought him some flowers to put on his grave for Father’s Day.

Would it be weird if the kids bought a teddy and drew some pictures to put on the grave for his birthday? They never met their Grandad but have heard about him etc. I know my partner won’t buy anything to put on there himself but he will definitely go and visit the grave.

Do you think that’s a good idea or am I overstepping?

I do think it's weird to come from the kids when they have never met him - it feels like they are pawns. But I think fine to get flowers again from you if he liked that?

Ok, maybe I’ll go for flowers again!! Thank you!

I think flowers are a good idea.

I know people do leave toys and things on graves - generally, sadly, children's graves - but there are some sick people who steal them. And that would be very very upsetting.

It's really thoughtful of you to do this for your partner and his Dad.
