Nothing scary or offensive. Her little cousin sent it.

Dear .............

This letter was started by children in 1996. If you keep it going until winter 2008 it will be published in the Guiness Book of Records, along with the children's names of who took part. Nobody has broken the chain so don't be the first. To keep it going all you need to do is copy this letter and send it to seven of your friends. You don't need a stamp but you do need to write 'Guiness Book of Records' on the envelope to get free postage. You have 4 days from the day you recieved this letter and you must be under the age of 18. On the back of the envelope there are 6 names, remove the first one and add yours to the bottom of the list. You must send it by post because the postal service is monitoring who breaks the chain. In a week you will recieve a thank you letter.

Good luck and please keep it going.

From .............

I don't mind sending it on, but want to just check that it's real. Can't find anything online to say it is. Does anyone know?

It's fake and been going for years - we had one a few years back. Never understand why these keep going , only Royal Mail benefit

LIZS · 28/05/2008 13:48

Statement here

BroccoliSpears · 28/05/2008 13:50

Thank you Lizs.

But how do RM benefit when the letters aren't stamped? How odd. Why would they continue to deliver them unstamped if it's not real?

oh missed that bit. Must be a pita for them .

chuggabopps · 28/05/2008 13:53

Lizs- actually RM don't benefit or endorse chain leters in any way.

ScienceTeacher · 28/05/2008 13:55

My DD received this a couple of weeks ago. We binned it.

UnquietDad · 28/05/2008 13:56
