Just bought a coo!ing blanket to help with the warm weather but when I feel it it is not cold. Does anyone know what I have to do to actually get it to cool me down.

Have you wet it? You need to run it under a cold tap and wring it out.

I have not as there was no instructions on how to use it with the blankets. Is that what you are support to do as it feels like it would ruin the material which is made of cotton

Yes if it's the microfiber type

How do you know if it is microfibre

Where did you get it from?

Woollygreymittens · 31/07/2025 21:26

I have got one and I didn’t have to wet it. It’s not made of microfibre. It’s really effective

I got a slumber down one and it's great recommend that if it's not the one you have

KitTea3 · 31/07/2025 21:29

If it was by any chance from B&M (mine also came with no instructions!) I put mine in the fridge to cool a few hours before bed! It's heavenly 😍

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 31/07/2025 21:38

Mine is silky on one side and terry towelling on he other. Doesn't need anything doing to it. It was a lifesaver in the heatwave.

caringcarer · 31/07/2025 21:40

I thought they got put in a bag in fridge for an hour before bed. I got them for dogs.

It's not got great reviews on Amazon

I have the cheapie cooling sports towels type things from Amazon that need to be dampened.

I can't see how any blanket can make one cooler? It looks ridiculous on the advert a family sitting under a blanket to cool down 😳

Did you look at all the one star reviews that say it doesn’t work? I’d return it as not as described/faulty.

Looked at a similar blanket to this one from different suppliers and reviews were good. Bought this one as it was cheaper. Also didn't realise it was from another country so would have to pay postage to send it back

No you don’t, it’s amazon free returns. It’s marked under the listing. Doesn’t matter where it’s been shipped from. I’ve done this loads of times.

Just go to your order list, select the blanket order and ask to return it as “not as described/faulty”. If it’s under 30 days it should be really straightforward.

If you are over the 30 days then it’s is slightly more complicated as their online returns functionality has recently been (illegally) changed and it may refer you back to the manufacturer if it’s over 30 days. This is illegal and they can’t insist on this so you then just need to contact Amazon customer services and insist they take it back as per your consumer rights.

Always look at the reviews for the actual product, as “similar” ones are not always the real deal, or as good.

I’ve bought a Luxear one and a Bedsear one and they’re both good. I’d highly recommend them. They’re lightweight but weighted enough to feel you have something over you without also getting heated. When I fold them to put away, they feel cold to the touch
