So our 5 year old daughter suffered a blow to the face circa. 10 weeks ago. She was unfortunately struck by a flailing scooter on the park.
10 weeks on and she still has a black eye and swelling. We have had an X-Ray (negative) and sought advice from a GP and an expert consultant from Maxillo Facial. It’s not broken/fractured and never was and the consultant has also ruled out a hematoma. What this is is significant damage to the soft tissue under my daughters eye causing the discoloration.
We have been told to be patient and that it should sort itself out in time. I’m also using Vitamin E oil to massage the area at the recommendation of the consultant. What he has also said, however, is there a chance it’ll never go back to how it was - worrying!
I’m wondering if anyone else had had similar experiences they can share and what the outcome was? Or if anyone has any further tips to help with the healing process?
