Hate em. Yes I know they are my bread and butter and I work with them all day but I have some people to do all the cably/adsl/spanner and screwdriver bits. I just write software and stuff.
We signed up to Virgin broadband a few months ago, discoved that it was not compatible with Windows 98 (needed for the DCs ancient and much loved games) despite what we were told. This was after I'd farted about with cables and the like for ages trying to get what they sent us to fit with our phone socket, power cables and thick Victorian walls. Tried to get someone sensible at Virgin to talk to us about it but gave up. So have been without e-mail or internet access at home since then. Dh just spent some of his (yet to be received) tax rebate on a laptop with Vista which was wireless ready. And will it work? Will it f*!
So fed up. I hate the stupid irritating things. DH going to get his lovely IT mate to come and fix it. But it's so humiliating as I suspect I should know.... I will make myself scarce when Mr Fixit turns up
And and and.....why is everything from Virgin sooo patronising? 'Look at you with yout nice shiny new Broadband connection!' (from recent letter from Virgin )
