Is this a thing? My DD is due to take her test before the end of the year and needs a manual car to practice on - we don't really want to buy a 3rd car as she is at Uni in London so won't really drive it - but want a car for the next few months for her to practice on. Is this a thing?? X

I’ve never heard of renting a car for this/ most ordinary rental companies won’t hire out a car to someone who’s been qualified less than a certain time, I think it’s 3 years.
Its a real problem, DS had difficulty insuring his own car to drive as a learner , although he did eventually find a company prepared to cover him , albeit with a black box and very expensive premiums.
Maybe there are specialist firms that rent out cars to learners, with insurance but I haven’t heard of any. Will be interested to see if they do exist.
