Dp proposed yesterday, apart from still being in shock I'm very very happy! We've been together over 6 years.

We've set a date (2 years from now) so excited and wondering what I'll need to book/ plan soon and what I am best leaving until nearer the time etc

I've never planned a wedding before!

Budget is bare minimum, £2000 max for everything including hen/ stag night.

Any idea's?

TIA

Officially you could have little ones as Flower Girls, and your two friends as "Chief Bridesmaids or Matron of Honour if either of them are married...and due to a range of ages their style of outfit can denote their special roles, all being similar theme ofcourse. As has been said BHS do a good range but beware they sell out quick, and I got married in September, and they dont stock them then!

Yay - a wedding thread

Congratulations. I am getting married in November and am a little bit wedding obsessed at the moment

In terms of timing - get the church and reception venue sorted a.s.a.p Most other things can wait until much nearer the time. You have a right to get married in the church within the parish where you live. If you're looking at a church outside your parish then its at the vicar's (or alternative's) discretion and some do like you to attend regularly for some time before the wedding.

We are having a late afternoon wedding and then only feeding people once and it cuts down on the costs
