would love a reply from someone who works in retail and deals with this -

If I return a John Lewis hanger to M&S that hanger is going in the bin right?

my local recycling group think places that accept hangers don’t discriminate about where the hanger originated -

I don't know the answer to that, but will say they seem to have this amazing ability to multiply in my wardrobe!

Yes it’s going in the bin. Branding/sticker is too much faff to use and different shops use different size stickers. This is why I tend to leave the hanger if I’m buying clothes in the shop. No need to take it home.

some stores will take them in and reuse them if they’re the same brand, some charity shops will also take them.

The Sainsburys near me has a hanger recycling bin, they accept all hangers and the bin is in a section near the tills with the battery, soft plastics, clothing and make up recycling bins and the food bank collection boxes,
