Verucca with red mark along foot???!

Hi all,

not sure if I’m over reacting but my 3 year old has a verucca and a red line underneath it. I took him to the gp last week and he said to just keep an eye on it and no need for antibiotics, it’s now the weekend and seems to be getting worse I’m not sure what do to has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I don't like the look of it tbh. Is there any heat in it? I'd draw around it with a biro so you can see if it's worsening (and prove to the doctor it is). But if there is any heat in it or it's swollen I'd been down to the walk in centre with that - you don't want to muck about with something that could cause sepsis.

Thank you for response. Yes I think I will take him back tomorrow. Do you think it’s over reacting if I take him to the walk in at the hospital?

I’d take him today. That’s infected and the red is tracking across his foot. He might need iv antibiotics

definitely go today. It’s tracking and I’ve never seen a verucca do that (retired nurse). Always better to be safe on these things.

@LegoTherapy thank you. It seems to have calmed down a bit but still slightly there. I think I will take him first thing still

It looks more red around the verruca itself now. My advice remains to get it checked today.

I've just bought End Warts Freeze from Amazon. It's great.

My Dd had one like that and really swollen but the dr said it wasn’t infected. We then did the frog tape method day and night and it was gone within a fortnight.

If as someone states it's tracking I'd take him tonight.
