When DD was diagnosed with HP, the Dr said to avoid acidic food such as tomatoes or things like red peppers etc. She came off dairy and wheat for a while too as her stomach lining was so inflamed. She recovered quite quickly after a couple of rounds of heavy duty antibiotics.

If H pylori is confirmed antibiotics are needed to clear it .

A PPI like Omeprazole or Lansoprazole daily, Sodium Alginate to control the symptoms of flare ups. Pepto Bismol helps with the upset stomach/gut as well.

Don't eat late at night. Elevate your head in bed. Don't lie down straight after eating. Stay away from greasy, spicy and hot food. Stay away from alcohol, acidic food and caffeine.

Same family of drug. Sometimes omeprazole stops working so you can try switching to a different PPI.

I struggled a lot with acid reflux. Went to stay with a family member and for the first time in four years didn’t have symptoms. After that I kept a food diary and it turned out to be rapeseed oil. Difficult to avoid as in almost EVERYTHING in the supermarket, but I’m eating healthier now as a result of cooking from scratch.
