Hello MNers. Nothern 1970's/80's street urchin here. I'm trying to remember a skipping/playground song from the 70s which ended with the words, 'Cos your mother' s a gypsy and my mother's a Queen.' Any ideas?

This has brought back fond memories. I was great a skipping. To think one day skip your last rope and never do it again.

Was it:

Lady, baby, gypsy, queen,
Elephant, monkey, tangerine!

Most often heard on our playground:

All in together, girls.
How do you like the weather, girls?
January, February, March, April . . .

No, it wasn't that one. It was a one-upmanship line which came at the end of the skip song. The one you've posted LaLaLa, does remind me of another skipping song, 'High, low, dolly, baby, sweeper, jig.
