What do you need to start a parent and toddler group (apart from loads of toys)?

gruff, I started one last year.
Do you have a Voluntary Group Agency in your area? They are fab. Helped us set up papers so we could get lottery and council funding.

As well as toys, you need: accomodation, insurance and a bank account (treasurer's account usually).

It can take a few months to get the ball rolling but it is worth it!

thanks nicky. Never heard of VGAs but live in scotland so maybe different. How much roughly for insurance? Does there have to be someone whos trained in first aid?

I'm also in Scotland. South Ayrshire. it was actually called some thing similar to VGA but can't remember exactly! Organisation maybe? Have you a local community website - might be able to tell you better, lol!

'Morton Michel' do the insurance. £60 a year. You don't need a first aider, but it might be useful.

I'm in a tiny village in South Lanarkshire. Don't think there's much on the web but will check. Did you already have a group of people together when you started? Only moved here recenty and don't really know anyone.

There were a few of us who met at post-natal groups and just clicked. We didn't want to lose touch, so...

Am off to browse, see if I can find name of that agency thingy....
