How do you find someone you have lost touch with?

I am actually trying to find an old friend's in-laws because I think that will be the easiest route. However, I can't remember their address and one search on foot proved fruitless.

I tried the phone book and the person I rang said that this woman I am looking for (the MIL) doesn't live there anymore and he has no contact details. He sounded a bit funny but I may go there and ask neighbours but he may be talking rubbish.

Where do I turn next? Any ideas? How do you find voting registers and stuff like that? TIA

I think you can find people quite easily through the 118118 website. I'll have a look (putting off cooking dinner ).

here worth a try. If no luck there are loads of other options...will check back later to see how you have got on.

I would say facebook is pretty good for finding people.

Facebook type sites or the friends reunited one, they have a bit where u can search stret names etc. Depends if they are the kinda people likely to use a computer though.

Otherwise i think u can ask the council to see the electoral roll BUT people can ask not to be included on the public register now
