Hi all,
Back in 2021 i was prescribed with PCOS and put on the waiting list to see a gynaecologist. Finally almost 10 months later had my appointment in which i was prescribed a 6 month dose of metformin to help control my pcos symptoms. The plan was that after 6 months my gynaecologist would contact me for review and i assume to prescribe me a further dose of metformin. Well 3 months into taking metformin i fell pregnant and have since had my child and my periods have began again, with this has come all of my prior pcos symptoms. To make things worse, myself and my partner have been trying for a baby for around 9 months now with no luck so i recently went to the doctors requesting I get put back on metformin as it worked so well for me before however, they said they cant prescribe it and if i want it i will have to be put back onto the gynaecology waiting list which they have told me is still around 10 months. It just seems strange to me that to get it prescribed i have to go through everything again, even though they can see on my record that i was approved for it and was never contacted by my gynaecologist again like i should of been! I have seen online quite a few people saying that their GPs prescribed it for them to help with their pcos with no issue, so wondered if anyone could confirm if this has been the case for them?
thank you :)
