does anyone know Tideswell in Derbyshire?

is it a nice place to live? I've heard mixed reports

We spent christmas week there last year and it was wonderful! Don't know about actually living there, things always look different when your on holiday But the pubs were all good! (most importantly!)

Very pretty; not sure there's much to actually DO there and if you've got teenagers, they'd probably think it was hell on earth.

it is pretty - but it has a long-standing reputation for being quite rough. just trying to find out as much as possible.
