My DD just turned 8 months and she can sit up pretty much unaided now. She can roll back to front although she doesn’t do it very often, but I have seen her do it. She HATES tummy time, like cries as soon as I put her on her belly. I try to encourage her to do it with toys, singing and physical touch but none of it works. My friends have babies a similar age who are crawling and pulling themselves up so I feel like we’re tracking behind. Any advice?

My advice is… please do not worry about it! I spent (wasted) so long comparing my little boy to other babies of similar ages for nothing, I stressed that he wasn’t rolling early enough (started at 10 months), crawling early enough (started at 11 months), and walking early enough (started today! 17 months). My point is, they will do it when they’re ready and in their own time and I look back now and hate that instead of celebrating what he was doing (for example he has the vocabulary of a two year old), I constantly stressed about what he hadn’t done yet. I’m sorry as I know this isn’t the advice you’re asking for but please take my word for it! Your little one sounds absolutely fine!
