Possible relocation to Durham… help!

Hi!

first time poster here. My husband and I (two kids - 2.5 years and 6 months) are thinking of relocating to Durham and for various reasons would be living in the city itself rather than in any of the surrounding villages. I’m worried that the centre will be completely student-dominated and not an easy place to be with a young family? Is there stuff for kids to do in the actual city? I’m a SAHM so would be keen to meet other mums through playgroups etc. more generally, is it a nice place to live and raise a young family?

appreciate any thoughts and advice!

What do you mean by stuff for kids to do? It has schools and parks and tourist attractions, as all old towns do. It's quite busy with students but they are mainly on campus and in some of the bars, but life goes on as normal when they pack up for the summer.
