I'm just looking at some on e-bay but I have no experience of their sizes, do I need to order a bigger size for my nearly 2yr old dd?

I've found their sizes to be generous. My 5yr old has a big tum and I don't need to go too many sizes bigger (as I do elsewhere)DD2 is 3 and I buy her 'age' size - this generally means there is plenty of room for growth.

Fab, thanks for that

American brands are always supersized. My DH has just ocme back from an American trip with clothes for a 4yo...DD is lost inside them!

madamy · 17/05/2008 17:17

My 2.8yr old dd is still way too small for her aged 2 tops that were bought for her at Christmas. She is on the small side to be fair, but they are huge!

FAQ · 17/05/2008 17:18

I must have big children.

bought DS3 (1 next week) a top there the other week and it's 2yrs - and it fits him really well.....

I don't understand why you are all talking about Pumpkin Patch clothes as though they are sized by age. They are sized by height, and given a number simply to indicate which of their height ranges it is in.
Am I missing something here, or are the rest of you?

yes

my 2 year old charge (he is not small but not huge either) had out grown his pumpkin patch age 2 tops by his 2nd birthday

chonky · 17/05/2008 18:11

I think they're small too (dd very tall though).

hana · 17/05/2008 18:25

I think they're small too
dd has had some as presents and she's never been able to wear them - but dd2 has!

girls are smaller than average

slippergirl · 17/05/2008 18:29

Pumpkin Patch are Antipodean not American. In my experience, they are on the slightly small side. My experience is that for example, a 2 will fit an average 18-30 months, a 3 31-42 months etc etc.

slippergirl · 17/05/2008 18:31

P.S. Have always found their clothes to be very good quality and to last.

scorpio1 · 17/05/2008 18:34

what about monsoon please?

MegBusset · 17/05/2008 18:35

They come up a little small on DS, he is starting to outgrow size 1 tops and he is 15mo.

slippergirl · 17/05/2008 18:37

Monsoon are very small and you have to choose carefully. If they have raw edges (which lots of Monsoon clothes do), they fray like mad.

bran · 17/05/2008 18:39

Monsoon is very small IMO. DS is smallish for his age and still wears age 2-3 or 3 in most clothes ranges (he's 4 next month) but he has grown out of his age 3-4 Monsoon stuff.

lucykate · 17/05/2008 18:39

if you are looking at second hand off ebay, just remember they will have been washed quite a few times so may have shrunk slightly too

calvemjoe · 18/05/2008 14:45

Thanks for that, have decided to order only size 2+. i figured if it's too big it'll fit her one day

Monsoon are cut small. Pumpkinpatch varies a lot. I find their coats, bodywarmers & outdoorwear small, so have to go up a year for the dcs. I also go up on their tops to be on the safe side but trousers are usually spot on.
