Hello, myself and my husband have been very fortunate and have won a competition for a 4 night trip abroad.
I feel incredibly lucky and I'm so very grateful but the way I am and feel, all i can think about is leaving our DD for this time.
When we go she will be 20 months old, she will be staying with my parents who she adores and is very happy there (i barely exist when she's there :D) but im so worried she will be upset, it will affect her and she will be distressed. We will be away Monday through to picking her up Saturday Morning.
Im quite an emotional sensitive person and its really playing on my mind.
If anyone has any advice or has been through similar, I would be so grateful.
I feel incredibly torn what to do. We have only left her for 1 night before.
Thankyou

Can’t you take her with you?

If she’s happy there she’ll be fine, it’s not going to have lasting damage.

Possibly, its a city break and an 8hr flight, that's the only issue, that she isnt going to enjoy it much

Big difference between a one year old and a not far off two year old. If you parents are up to a five day stretch (which is also very different to having her for the odd day or overnight) then she will be absolutely fine. It’s probably more whether you would enjoy your trip if you’re worrying. I’d keep the holiday and try her for a longer period of time (weekend perhaps) with you on hand if needs be in the interim.

It sounds a lovely trip and would be a huge shame to miss it.

Thank You, appreciate your advice.
They have her one day a week and see her almost every other day (luckily we live very close).
