Hi mums,

We currently live in Coventry but after having a pair of twins this year, we are looking into moving to Warwick, probably in a new estate. My husband works there and I in Birmigham so Warwick is a better choice to raise kids. However, I am however a bit reluctunt of moving to a new place that we do not know anyone. Is Warwick a friendly town for new families? Are there things to do with kids where we could meet other families?

Congratulations on your twins. I don't live in Warwick but I work there. It's a nice little town perfect for raising a family. Everyone I know who lives there seems to really like it. I wouldn't say there's loads there but lots of baby and toddler groups and good access to green spaces. I'm not a fan of Coventry so I'd say it will be a marked improvement

Coventry seems to suffer from a lot of crime. Warwick is lovely and you will make new friends having kids.

Warwick is great, as is Leamington. Very friendly in my experience!

Lovely to hear that! Coventry is not the best place to be at the moment.

we moved from Birmingham to Warwickshire with our toddler and love it here! Stratford, Leamington spa and Warwick are all great. Lots of outdoor playgroups and nice parks. Some great schools too. Definitely recommend it here :)

The Peanut app is good for meeting people. There’s also a Facebook group Mum Knows Best Warwickshire (if you’ve not heard of it before). Good luck!

Did you consider Solihull before moving here? That was my second optio as its closer to work for me. But as I lived in Cov for 11 years I feel more comfortable with Warwick..

We’ve just moved from Coventry to Warwick. We didn’t want DD4 growing up in Coventry. We were there for 14 years, I think we may have stayed if we didn’t have DD. We absolutely love it here. It’s SO quiet and the neighbours are lovely. We both grew up in Warwickshire so it’s not like we don’t know Warwick but luckily our house went up in value a lot so we were now able to move, smaller house but nicer area. I would suggest buying a house in walking distance to town if possible otherwise you’ll have to drive everywhere

Warwick is great - check out classes at beyond the bump and their play cafe as it’s really welcoming and aimed at young families.

similarly there is a the mum club leamington spa which will cover Warwick too!

I will do :-))
