Help needed on tandem pushchairs

I have to get sorted re: a tandem pushchair ASAP because when I ordered my daughter's Pramette it took about 8 weeks to arrive and my next baby is now just 14 weeks away.

I think I prefer a tandem rather than a double. I want something light and easy to manoeuvre. I have been assuming a 4 wheeler rather than a 3 wheeler because I imagine the 3 wheelers are heavy. My daughter will be almost 2 when the baby is born and she is tall for her age so there needs to be sufficient room for her.

I'm not fussed on brand.

I know that there are product reviews on this website but nothing seems to fit the bill.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Go to various baby shops - mothercare etc, after you have done (preferably lots) of other shopping. Put toddler in any prams you think may fit the bill and shopping in the bit where baby would go. Push it round shop (don't worry about looking like a loon - this is your money remember). Keep trying - toddler will get bored . . . see how easy it is to get grumpy toddler into said pram (this will be useful trust me ). When you have a list of those easy to manoevre around a crowded shop and can get tetchy children in jot down the names, then trawl the internet to get the best price!!

I love your advice - useful but fraught!!

I don't have a great shop near me with a huge choice, despite having a Mothercare World it has a very small choice.

Will have to do some research as to who stocks which pram - could take quite a few seperate visits!

It will be worth it. There is nothing as bad as having a pram that's not right for you. Even a few fraught shopping trips are better than having to put up with a crap pram for ages (unless of course you can afford to buy a different one)
