Just wanted to know why a conveyor needs to see an AST for a BTL remortgage, what checks do they do? Specifically with regards to the deposit….

To ensure that the tenancy is properly regulated and if the lender needs to repossess they will easily be able to evict the tenant. The deposit should be placed in a tenancy deposit scheme.

Do they check if the deposit has been placed in a scheme? What if there isn’t a deposit?
