Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has got rehoused by the council due to mould in a private property?
Mould started appearing in our house before twins were born, contacted the landlord who sent a plasterer out, inspected the property and said our walls aren’t insulated properly, our guttering is all wrong and said he would discuss it with landlord. Never heard anything after despite trying to contact him numerous times.
Mould continued to spread in the house despite us airing the house everyday, buying a dehumidifier and cleaning it ourselves. We looked at other private rentals in the area but they’re just too expensive. We applied to the council and can now bid for houses but are always at the bottom of the list.
Twin 1 was born with gastroschisis and continues to go to hospital every two weeks. We’ve been back and forth with the twins due to their breathing and we know it’s down to the mould and our gp agrees and has wrote letters for the council who have given us medical forms to complete, we are just wondering if anyone else has been through the same thing and got rehoused due to mould? Thank you
