I’ve had two cycles first one was a few years ago and 2nd cycle was last year. My most recent cycle was chaotic, the clinic was packed, the nurses never pick up the phone. I waited over an hour for my scan once.
This was a huge contrast from my earlier IVF round where I felt seen, and the energy felt calmer.
It now feels impersonal as though they have taken too many patients that they are struggling. I think they have taken a lot of NHS patients which doesn’t help.
Also my gynaecologist didn’t perform my egg retrieval - the surgeon was great but not my gynaecologist. My first IVF cycle was different my chosen gynaecologist performed the egg retrieval.
Obviously for those who have a successful IVF round you will likely feel different. Maybe you don’t see the issues as you’ve got what you wanted.
But I use the Lister hospital for other gynaecological issues. I’ve had a major operation with them and will be having a bowel resection with them too. I’ve stayed there 5 days, and they have a brilliant in-patient care, great food, and surgeons are amazing etc…
Hope that helps!
