My 3 1/2 year old daughter got stung by a wasp when she was 2, I wasn't there at the time, but I think that was the trigger for her fear of buzzing things. I can get her to hold spiders or beetles without fear, but as soon as the warm weather starts it's a battle (which I usually lose) to get her outside in case something buzzes past her. It seems to be getting worse as she gets older and I want to try and help her get over this whilst she's young but all attempts have so far failed (bribing with 'buzzing' sweets aka smarties, examining insects up close and talking about them, reasoning with her).
Any suggestions would be much appreciated as it really is starting to affect her and stops her enjoying picnics, playing in the garden or any outdoor activity.
Thanks
