Ferrous fumarate liquid side effects

Hi wasnt sure what to post on just wondering did anyone have any aide effects woth this? I started taking yesterday and all night had heart dropping sensations, lower heart rate, palpitations, dizzy. Feeling weird. I had it weeks ago and blamed the folic acid so now im blaming this haha. Not sure if it's a mixture of everything. I also have nad health anxoety and on a heavy period. Ahh so stressed

Those are all symptoms of anaemia! I assume that it why you are taking it? I took ferrous fumarate tablets, and had no side affects at all, other than black stools.

Were you given dietary advice too? Take the meds with a Vit C rich meal/drink? Orange juice/meals with peppers
Avoid or at least cut down tannin rich things such as red wine/tea/coffee which decreases the absorption of the iron.

If you eat meat, also eat this with Vit C rich foods or a glass of OJ. I started eating liver when I was anaemic. I found that eating it with mash, bacon and onion gravy help to mask the flavour 😄

It takes 3mths for red blood cells to replicate, so if you are anaemic, the tablets aren't a quick fix. You will feel better in a few weeks though. My nails started growing better, I no longer felt knackered and needing to sleep in the day etc.

@JC03745 thanks so much for your reply. Well been on the meds 3 days now. Well the dr told me my uron etc was fine so I pushed for more and it said my transferrin was low at 12% and folate low at 2.4 he told me everything else was normal but qhen I've shown people they've all said my numbers are low (will include them at end of message) I went weird and nearly collapsed baxk in June and have been bad since. All bloods apart from them keep coming back normal. Chest xrays, echo etc all normal, mri of head normal yet I feel awful everyday. Eyesight blurry (had rye test) feel like I can't focus, light affects me being outside. Dizzy off freling, palpitations. Weak,breathless the lost goes on
