Family looking to relocate to Bristol - where to live?

We are looking at relocating to Bristol. I potentially have a job at UWE. We have a young family. Eldest is currently in reception. Youngest will need a nursery. We have a budget of £500-600k. Currently living on the outskirts of Peak District/Sheffield and like the countryside feel but easy access to city/amenities. We have family in Berkshire so would like easy access to the M4 and id like a short commute to work. Any advice of where to start looking? Thanks

If you want to be near the M4 you could look at Yate/Chipping Sodbury and surrounding areas. Or if you would be ok on M5 have a look off the junctions by Cribbs Causeway like Portishead or Clevedon

Bradley Stoke, Stoke Gifford, Bromley Heath, Frenchay, Downend, Emerson’s Green, Lyde Green. All nice family areas along the northern ring road and close to UWE and M32/4/5.

Traffic is bad in Bristol so definitely look in the north of the city. So you are looking for just outside the city rather than in it? Are you looking for a town or village? I am within the city in north Bristol which would be convenient but definitely not countryside.

You could look further out at Frampton Cotterell type areas or even as far as Dursely if you want a more rural setting.

Looking to be on the outskirts ideally. Semi rural feel i suppose!

Look at Winterbourne/Winterbourne Down/Frampton Cotterell, Pucklechurch.
