I was shopping in the £1 shop and saw a young lad stuff chocolate bar/s under his top. I was really insensed by it, and said to the lad ' It's a pound and you've still got to steal it'. He just shrugged at me, though I got the feeling he was totally shocked that someone had actually had the nerve to say something. When I went outside to pay at the car park machine, he and about 5 other lads(big lads)suddenly appeared and surrounded us. I tried to look cool about it and wheeled the buggy around and told Ds to come along and we walked away. They didn't follow us, but it frightened me, though I didn't show it. Ds said to me ' you scared me when you said that to him mum' I asked him why and he said ' He might have had a knife and I don't want anything to happen to you or sis'. Poor boy(he's 9.9).
Can't stand thieves! and the words just came out. I'm fed up watching people nick stuff from the £1 shop...they'll have to put their prices up to cover the costs if it goes on! .
Is it so wrong for law abiding people to voice their disdain(sp) when seeing things like that? or is it just me being too honest?

its definatly wrong , but your son is right. the thing to do would be to tell the shop keeper or phone the police. or both.

bloody shock for you though, glad you are ok
