Confession…. Re neighbours

Post Christmas tidy up happening, I have recycled any Christmas wrapping and saved any I could. Refuse and recycling was collected yesterday and bins empty and ready to start again. Neighbours who we share a sort of bin space with, behind locked gates, didn’t put out any recycling and now have two overflowing paper ‘bins’ including some non paper bags from designer shops and several perfectly reusable Christmas bags - which I confess I have taken! They won’t notice this is their third home (or second depending upon the order….). Nor will they be here to put the recycling out next week (she won’t touch bins). Should I start the year being kind and sort their rubbish and put it out next week OR leave it to accumulate and hope eventually they do it?

Given that you have helped yourself to some of their stuff, then it seems only decent to put their bin out if they are unable.

Depends - if it will bug you or make more mess then do it, otherwise leave it

I wouldn’t say I helped myself to stuff! Rather than leaving the barely used two Christmas bags in the recycling bin, I retrieved them 😁. I recycle all good Christmas bags.

we think they may leave the job to their cleaners.. so may wait another week now. The neighbours only visit one day a week!

often DH gives in because any windy day and the rubbish gets spread around….

thanks and nice to see kindness slightly ahead. Bin day tomorrow, wind has now scattered their overflowing rubbish (two boxes and another bag full) all down the drive. I will put out the one recycling box full and leave the overflow and that in the wrong box - our refuse collectors won’t collect it if not in the correct box….
