I’m seeking the opinion of the fine Mumsnet community to settle a debate amongst our extended family.

placemats : are they essential when entertaining or considered working class?

If you are not using a tablecloth then placemats are essential to stop your table from being marked I would say. I am firmly middle class and I have lovely slate ones I use.

How on earth could placemats be working class? Fml 🤦🏻‍♀️
