Possibly. They're finickety bastards.

WigWamBam · 29/04/2008 17:03

I'd do it again, to be honest.

They reject forms for the smallest of reasons.

flowerybeanbag · 29/04/2008 17:04

Yes probably. They are extremely picky.

BecauseImWorthIt · 29/04/2008 17:06

Worth going through the 'check and send' process at the Post Office for this one.
According to the notes, you can correct things, as long as you didn't use Tippex. But I don't think that's any guarantee that they won't reject it.

brimfull · 29/04/2008 17:25

ok thanks

phone them as they have a 24 hr tel no. It will be on the form.

probablyaslytherin · 29/04/2008 22:06

Doesn't it say that if you make a mistake you have to black it out and write it afresh. No tippex allowed!
The adviceline takes forever, you've to listen to all sorts of rubbish first.

MrsWeasley · 29/04/2008 22:15

dh says you should black it out completed and write the correct date clearly, nearby.

He checks the forms but says it will depend on who does yours Passport.
If you dont want to be disappointed get it checked at the Post Office and be prepared to fill out another form.

I think you'll probably be okay. I made quite a few mistakes on the dc's (very recent) passport applications. I just scored them out and rewrote them and it was fine.

BecauseImWorthIt · 29/04/2008 22:49

I have had to ring the passport advice line tonight and they were really helpful. Once you get through all the recorded 'if you want this, press 1, if you want the other press 2' nonsense.

brimfull · 03/05/2008 17:03

have only just seen these replies
i'll black it out and see how it goes
thanks

Yes, mine was rejected for exactly this reason.

Most other mistakes eg the address can be corrected by totally blacking out the boxes and writing it again but there is no space to do this in the date of marriage section.

brimfull · 06/05/2008 08:24

thanks sodor-you're right,I called the helpline and they told me to do another one.

I did wonder if getting my marriage date wrong was a freudian slip!!!

It is a pain, especially if you have to get it countersigned again.
