Welcome home lou33!!!

I know it's a bit late for this - and I know many of us have said it on other threads - but I wanted to start a proper thread for lou.

She'll probably kill me for saying this but I talked to her on msn yesterday and she's very down. She showed me some of her holiday pictures - they make sobering viewing. She's been through a lot

She came back from one of the worst disasters in living memory to a MN where everyone was bickering and squabbling and witch hunting: and she was so down about it yesterday she was ready to pack it all in (lou, I hope you aren't going to be mad at me for saying that...)

Lou's a fantastic moderator - she takes her job very seriously - did you know she reads every single new thing that's posted on MN (no mean feat!), to see where she can offer help or advice or just welcome a new person?

So can we tell her how great she is and how much she was missed and offer her our support? I know from the "Earthquake in SEAsia: where is lou33?" thread how much she means to MNers.

HI Lou it must have been awful and it is wonderful that you are back. Must say I have not been around lately and came back and thought what is going on? It is threads like these that make it all worthwhile though.

Ps Delgirl have asked on another thread but how are you?

Lou, I'm really glad you're back and sorry you're feeling down Thought about emailing you but was leaving it a while in case you were bombarded and trying to get 'back to normality'.

You are a fantastic moderator and an asset to everyone on MN, so sorry you had to come back to so much bickering and bad feeling but, hopefully, it will pass. Would hate to see you go xxxxxxx

Very well and brown having been on hols with Beety - apart from horrid cold. Caught up with your pregnancy and am really really pleased it is going well.

Lou, after what you've been through I'm not in the least bit suprised that you are fed up with all the goings on on here.

It's silly really that emotions are running so strongly about X,Y and Z.

Please accept my apology for my comments on Lavenders thread. I have tried and tried and tried to stay away from them and to not let it bug me so much. I just see it as a big joke now....the whole lavender thing. Which isn't good for Lavender, if her problems are real she need help not a pi$$ take.

I've made apromise to myself to stick to the trival, silly and perenting stuff now.

I'm so glad you're all home safe.

As soon as I heard the news my first thought was you and your family. I was so worried about you all.

Which I think shows the power of mumsnet because I have not met you in RL but I still felt of you as a friend.

You were so kind to me and DS on SN and are a really kind considerate person to everyone.

I know that everyone here respects you, that was obvious by the thread about "where is lou?"

Yes I feel shit atm. Looking at the pics we took and combined with returning to the uk is very hard. I feel a bond with thailand now that is more than just having a good time. Finding it hard to suppress the urge to jump on the first plane back and go and do something. Everythign in england seems very self indulgent and trivial. I've specifically avoided reading/watching anything about the tsunami since we got back until today. Burst into tears reading yesterday's independent, all the names and faces of those missing. It was only fluke that we didn't end up on khao lak or phi phi, or railay, certain things came together to make those places impossible in the end. If it had happened 2 days later we would have been dead, no doubt about it, the house we would have been in was flattened, and it was made of bricks.

So I want to go back , but dh says it's not possible. I have friends travelling and working in thailand who i could hang out with, but leaving him with the kids for so long wouldn't be an option. I feel so bloody helpless.

But thank you for all your good wishes. They brighten up my day a bit

Off to take ds2 to the hospital now, x ray needed after he hurt his foot on the beach in thailand just before new year.

Hi Lou - yes you are a national treasure - don't leave MN, please, do stay! We have probably all gone wrong just because you weren't here all that time to keep us in line

Oh, Lou - I wish you could go back too - I know lots of people have.

Hope ds2's foot gets sorted out quickly.

Welcome back Lou, although having already contributed to a number of threads with you this is belated! I was thinking of you, not only because of the Tsunami thing, but the loss of your friend before Christmas as well. If anybody deserves to feel a bit shitty at the moment.. and be able to moan etc. about it you do. Feel free to do it here.
