Have you got a Nitty Gritty comb? DD has eczema so I avoid the shampoos, but whenever nigs are doing the rounds I thoroughly nitty gritty her hair with conditioner, then wash her hair, every evening for a couple of weeks. Has done the trick this far!

I'd recommend getting a nitty gritty comb and just having a once a week routine to come through with lots of conditioner as a preventative measure to stop them taking hold. You only need the shampoos if there's an active infestation. Also keep her hair tied up at school for the time being and if your lucky you might avoid them.

Keep checking daily, and use a headlice defence shampoo and conditioner on her, like this Escenti Childrens Head Lice Defence Shampoo and Conditioner : Amazon.co.uk: Health & Personal Care. Send her to school with hair braided, not loose. I don't use the treatment shampoo unless I see any lice.

Check back of head, behind ears. Look out for scratching. Get a white nit comb (better imo as you can see what you're dealing with). As a precaution just comb through once a week with nit comb and ton of conditioner. Don't let them set in trust me it's an absolute nightmare! If you do find them, wash pillow/bedding regularly and consider a treatment shampoo but bear in mind this won't kill the eggs 🤢

Lots of great advice thanks everyone will start regular checks. I have only got the nit comb that came with the shampoo we got today so I will look to see if theres better ones. I just wanted to make sure we had shampoo in just incase but shes ok so far. I never had them in school luckily so all new to me.
