For info, I come from a Polynesian household and my older family members are strict conservative christians who believes in living life according to social norms.
One those is that at a certain age, you get married, get knocked up and have kids.
I am married but my parents gave me hella shit when me and my husband decided that we do not want kids and she gives my oldest sister who is 34 hella shit because she is not married and she is willingly childfree.
I got my own reasons why I don't want kids.
I don't downright hate kids but I am not too fond of kids either. I am not patient at all when dealing with kids and I am quite indifferent towards them in general. You see how a lot of people smile at random babies or talk to them with a high pitched silly voice, I never did any of that. If a random baby stares at me in the subway train or anywhere in public, I just glance at it for a second and look away and keep going about my business. I've never been like "aw that's a cute baby".
On the rare times that my mother forced me or my sisters and bros to babysit our relatives kids when we were living with her, we couldn't wait to give them back.
Other reasons. Kids are cash registers. They cost lots of money.
You have to worry about many other things such as schooling, doctors appointments, you have endless amounts of household chores, they wake you up in the middle of the night, they crap and piss themselves at the most inconvenient times. Overall they are a burden.
And then the most important reason. Raising them. No matter how well you try to raise them, you never truly know how they gonna turn out to be. The truth is, you can't control your kids when they become teens and eventually become adults. They may become successful law abiding citizen or they may become a menace to society. They may become scammers, thugs, criminals, mobsters, scammers ECT.
Or even if they become law abiding citizens, you might be extremely ashamed when they make a severe mistake that could cost the lives of many such as crashing a truck into a bunch of cars or crashing a commercial airplane (look up air France 447 or air Asia 8501 for example).
