Can you use your argos card to pay for groceries in Sainsbury's without a pin?

Is it a debit or credit card with contactless capability?

Vick8390 · 07/11/2024 20:10

It's like a credit card isn't contactless

I don't think so. It is a storecard for Argos. How would you pay at a till without a pin, or a chip for contact less?
As an aside I had an email yesterday saying the Argos Card side of the business has been sold off, to New Day I think

The faq's suggests you can use it

They swipe the cards magnetic strip and you then have to sign a receipt. And they check it with the signature on the back of the card. I've done this. Though my signature was questioned by staff. Luckily I had a few other cards with my signature on so they could see it naturally varies no matter how hard I try and sign the same each time.
