I’m hoping for some guidance as I feel completely of my depth on how to advise my 17 year old about their next steps in the music industry. They sing and play guitar on TikTok (mostly covers) and have built up a following. A video recently went viral and they have been approached by over 10 different A&R people from labels and management companies here and in the US and they all want a piece of them. Where do we even start with all of this? Their sibling is currently acting as their manager and has started taking meetings for them. Have any parents on here been through similar and can share advice? Or anyone from the industry that can offer some insights? I have had such great advice from this platform in the past. I never thought I’d be coming on here and posting about this stuff but Chat GPT can only help so much…Thank you so much if you have managed to read all of this.

Not got any advice but that's amazing!

Thanks @FlippertyFlopperty. It’s very exciting but also confusing and we are so worried that we might take a wrong turn and ruin things before they even get off the ground. Also it’s my kid’s A level year so this is all a huge distraction but obviously a great opportunity. Really hope someone comes along that has been through similar.

UPDATE!! We need an artist manager and a lawyer before we can proceed with a major label offer. Does anyone on here have any recommendations?
